Tips for ielts reading, short-answer question is a conditional question, which is generally given as a singular open question or as fill in the blacks. In this type of question condition like write NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS or, Write ONE WORD ONLY, or Write TWO WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER, or Write A NUMBER ONLY.

This type of question you must maintain the condition as it is given to the question. If you do not apply the answer according to condition it will be WRONG ANSWER. So, if you are given the condition ONE WORD ONLY, you must write one word; you cannot write two or three words for your answer.

PARAGRAPH OF A PASSAGE

Some wells are vast, open craters with hundreds of steps paving each sloping side, often in tiers. Others are more elaborate, with long stepped passages leading to the water via several storeys built from stone and supported by pillars, they also included pavilions that sheltered visitors from the relentless heat. But perhaps the most impressive features are the intricate decorative sculptures that embellish many stepwells, showing activities from fighting and dancing to everyday acts such as women combing their hair and churning butter.
