Let’s start : Active and Passive voice
VOICE
Active voice:-
A verb is in the active voice when its form shows. That the person or thing denoted by the subject does something; in other words, is the doer of the action.
The active voice is so called because the person denoted by the subject acts.
Passive voice :-
A verb is in the passive voice when its form shows that something is done to the person or thing denoted by the subject.
The passive voice is so called because the person or thing denoted by the subject is not active but passive, that is suffers or received some action.
Voice :-
Voice is that form of a verb which shows whether what is denoted by the subject does something or has something done to it.
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਕ Active ਜਾਂ Passive ਹੈ verb ਦੀ form ਕਿਸਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਰਿਆ active ਹੈ ਤਾ ਵਾਕ active voice ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਰਿਆ passive ਹੈ ਤਾ ਵਾਕ passive voice ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
Rules to follow to change active voice into passive voice
1.) Active ਤੋਂ Passive voice ਵਿੱਚੋ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ Active ਦਾ subject, Passive ਦਾ Subject ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ Active ਦਾ Subject, Passive ਦਾ Object ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ –
He writes a letter. (Active voice)
A letter is written by him. (Passive voice)
2.) Passive voice:- ਵਿੱਚ verb ਦੀ (v3) third form ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ is/am/are/was/were being/been ਇਹ helping verb ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ Tense ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
3.) Active ਤੋਂ passive ਬਣਾਉਣ ਸਮੇਂ Passive ਦੇ Subject ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ verb ਲਗਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ Subject singular ਹੈ ਤਾਂ verb ਵੀ singular ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ subject plural ਹੈ ਤਾਂ verb ਵੀ plural ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਜਿਵੇਂ-
4.) Passive voice ਵਿੱਚ by ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ Agent (Object) ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਾ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। By ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ verb ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਤੇ Agent (Object) ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
5.) Passive voice ਵਿੱਚ Active voice ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ Objective form ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਦਾ ਹੈ

6.) ਸਧਾਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ verb ਦੇ ਨਾਲ object ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ Transitive verb ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ passive voice ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇ go, come, sit, stand, sleep ਆਦਿ ਦਾ passive ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਜੇਕਰ intransitive verb ਦੇ ਨਾਲ preposition ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ Passive voice ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇ :-

7.) ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 12 Tenses ਵਿਚੋ 8 ਦਾ Passive voice ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 4 ਦਾ passive voice ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ। ਜਿਵੇ :- Present perfect continuous tense, Past perfect continuous tense, Future continuous tense, Future perfect continuous tense ਦਾ passive voice ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ 8 ਦਾ passive voice ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹਨ
